AUTHENTICATING THE PRINCETON DOUBLE ELEPHANT EDITION

Thank you for your interest in the Princeton Double Elephant Collection.

The print size is 26 1/4" x 39 1/4", which is the most common trim size of the original Audubon/Havells.  (This is the measurement after the binding marks were trimmed off)  Some of our Flamingo prints measure about 26" x 39 1/4."

The official Princeton Audubon Limited Seal depicted here appears on all prints sold from this office.

For the American White Pelican, and the out of stock Wild Turkey, plate 1, the number is 500.

Further, you will see a number penciled in on the lower left-hand corner, indicating the actual number reached for your print, followed by a slash and 500 or 1500.

Dealers and appraisers:  You will need a jeweler's loupe to see the geometric pattern of dots, as they are printed on a 300 line.

Paper is a very heavy 80# cover stock which is toned to match the average color of the actual originals.  There will be no foxing.  Paper is stressed for 300 years.
