A Print ABSOLUTELY AUDUBON! Why?

Audubon had the assistance of several willing and very able artists who often painted the flora and background in the original watercolors which served as the basis for the subsequent double elephant engravings. However, unique in all his 433 original watercolors was the Pinnated Grous. Why? Audubon himself composed all three elements of this print, namely, the Bird, the Flora, and the Background. He also wrote that he shortened the stems of the Tiger Lily plants in order to fit them into the foreground. So this plate, of all the double elephants, is truly, absolutely Audubon!
