Original Purple Grackle or Common Crow Blackbird. This chromolithograph is of the Bien Edition. It is one of the more popular Audubon prints. The print is presently framed. The dimensions of the print visible inside the frame are 23 ½ wide and 35 ½ inches. The outer dimensions of the frame are 26 ½ inches wide by 38 ½ inches. The central image is slightly faded. There is some slight staining at the edges of the paper. There are no visible tears or rips in the paper. The upper left and right Part and Plate numbers, the bottom bird Nomenclature and the bottom Audubon and Bien cites are present and are perfectly legible. The shown production date is 1858.
