"Barn Owls" from
Havell Edition, Double-Elephant Folio size
features life-size raptors (male and female) with prey. This is an
original Audubon engraving right out of the Birds of America
book! It still has binding stitch marks and is untrimmed. It is in
good condition as it went straight from book to frame around 1920.
Color is good. Slight browing of paper in areas. Needs some restoration
(estimated at $2,000) including de-acidification, removal from backing
and (2) small tear repairs. I am prepared to do the restoration at
University of Utah state-of-the-art facility, but want to give the buyer
the option to manage him/herself. Appraised at $42,000 restored; will
sell as-is with restoration allowance.

We are in the
process of liquidating these Audubon prints from an old Scottsdale estate
here in Arizona. All six of these Audubon prints appear to be in good to
excellent condition and have been professionally cared for. They were framed
and matted in matching frames and mats at a shop in Scottsdale, AZ several
years ago. We want to sell the entire collection together, but may consider
selling them individually, depending on interest and offers. Please email
jangrams@mac.com with any questions or to discuss further.
